Welcome to the 2011 Equinox Marathon

E-mail Print PDF

After 15 years of great leadership, Steve Bainbridge has retired as race director and moved to Anchorage.  Since that time, the Running Club North Board of Directors has contracted with Susan Kramer and John Estle to serve as the co-directors of the race.

We have been busy planning for the coming year.  We are enlisting a number of local runners with strong ties to the Equinox Marathon to assist us as part of an advisory committee, and we'll be looking for many more people to assist us in achieving our goal of improving on the fantastic work that Steve Bainbridge did during his tenure.

There will be some changes coming, as is always the case when there's a change at the top, but the changes won't be major, and all the changes will be made with the objective of thinking of the runners first.  And we will be sure to preserve the "essence" of the event that makes the Equinox Marathon the special community event that it has become.

Please watch this space for announcements about entering this year's race and other announcemens of interest to dedicated (and even un-dedicated) Equinox Marathon followers and fans.

You can also follow us on Twitter (@EquinoxMarathon) and on Facebook (Equinox Marathon).

Stay tuned!
