Welcome to the Equinox Marathon, Equinox Relay and Equinox Ultra-Marathon. As 8 AM, September 19th rapidly approaches, the pace at which preparations occurs seems to increase exponentially. The number of folks registering for the three events has picked up and have to entered into the database, the Pumphouse Restaurant prepares for Registration/Bib pick-up, supplies are being purchased, sponsors are coming on board, course markers are being set out, permits are in hand, crews are being set for traffic control and water stops, t-shirts and awards are on the way, and on and on. We're looking forward to another great running of the 47th Annual event.

I encourage all participants to take a look at the Pre-Race Instructions. The Equinox races has several unique rules due to the two train crossings and the fact that the course covers many different trail conditions. By being aware of these, it will help minimize any inconvenience on race day.

So far this summer we have experienced hot, dry summer days which were followed by extreme wildfire and smoke conditions which made training difficult if not imossible at times. It caused several running events to be postponed. In August the rainy season started and we went to the opposite extreme. Now that we are into September, the weather is in our favor, relatively warm and sunny weather as this is being written. With good luck, it will hold for the next two weeks and you will be able to enjoy the fall colors while participating in the Equinox.  Have a great day on the trails!!

Where the fun never ends!   Steve
